Open Access is a publication model that enables the dissemination of research articles to the global community without restriction, usually through the internet. Thus, all the articles published under Open Access can be accessed by anyone with internet connection. An Open Access publication is the one that satisfy the following two conditions:

The author(s) and copyright holder(s) grant(s) to all users a free, irremediable, worldwide, permanent right of access to, and a license to copy, use, dispense, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any accountable purpose, subject to proper acknowledgment of authorship, as well as the right to make small numbers of printed copies for their personal use.

A full adaption of the work and all supplemental materials, including a copy of the permission as stated above, in a proper standard electronic format is submitted immediately upon initial publication in at least one online storehouse or archive that is supported by an academic institution, scholarly society, government agency, or other well-established organization that seeks to enable Open Access, unrestricted distribution, interoperability, and long-term archiving.
We strongly believe that removing barriers to research published online will greatly aid to the progress in scientific and technical streams. The RMJ strongly supports the Open Access initiative. Abstracts and full texts (HTML, PDF format) of all the articles published by the Journal are freely accessible to everyone directly after publication. This means that all articles published in The RMJ, including data, graphics, and supplements, can be linked from external sources, scanned by search engines, re-used by text mining applications or websites, blogs, etc. free of charge under the sole condition of proper accreditation of the source and original publisher. In a nutshell,
- peer-reviewed literature is freely available without subscription or price barriers;
- literature is immediately released in open access format (no embargo period);
- everyone has unlimited access to the full-text of all the articles published in The RMJ;
- everyone is free to re-use the published material if proper accreditation/citation of the original publication is given;
Permissions
No special permission is required to reuse all or part of the article published by The RMJ, including figures and tables. Any part of the article may be reused without permission provided that the original article is clearly cited. Reuse of an article does not imply endorsement by the authors or The RMJ.
